The Truth about life..

“RAT RACE” The life of the average-educated, hardworking person, has this path. The child is born and goes to school. The proud parents are excited because the child excels, gets fair to good grades, and is accepted into college. The child graduates, maybe goes on to graduate school and then does exactly as programmed: looks for a safe, secure job or career. The child finds that job, maybe as a doctor or a lawyer, or joins the Army or works for the government. Generally, the child begins to make money, credit cards start to arrive in mass, and the shopping begins, if it already hasn’t.

Having money to burn, the child goes to places where other young people just like them hang out, and they meet people, they date, and sometimes they get married. Life is wonderful now, because today, both men & women work. Two income are bliss. They feel successful, their future is bright, and they decide to buy a house, a car, a television, take vacations and have children. The happy bundle arrives. The demand for cash is enormous . The happy couple decides that their careers are vitally important and begin to work harder, seeking promotions and raises. The raises come, and so does another child and the need for a bigger house. They work harder, become better employees, even more dedicated. They go back to school to get more specialized skills so they can earn more money. Maybe they take a second job. Their incomes go up, but so does the needs. They get their large pay check and wonder where all the money went. They buy groceries & clothing with their credit card. The children reach 5 or 6 years of age, and the need to save for college increases as well as the need to save for their retirement.

That happy couple, born 35 years ago, is now trapped in the Rat Race for the rest of their working days. They work for the owners of their company, for the government paying taxes, and for the bank paying off a mortagage and credit cards.
Then, they advise their own children to ’study hard,, get good grades, and find a safe job or career.’ They learned nothing about money, except from those who profit from their naivet’e, and work hard all their lives. The process repeats into another hard-working generation.

This is the RAT RACE.

  1. silent noise, consider this. much of the reason we get caught up in the inescapable web that you just elaborated upon is because we only see the beautiful design, offerings, and attractions of the web and not the evil, alluring, deceptive true nature of the web. i am a black american male. my spouse and i currently reside in japan. we have two wonderful children. from the time they were small i refused to teach the concept of get a good education so that you can land that good paying, securing job! no. i taught them to get a good education so that they could go out and create jobs themselves. now my son runs two restaurants and a successful tax business in atlanta. my daughter and her husband are doing very well in TX. my daughter is completing her advanced degree and will be starting up her own family practice soon. i have always counseled them against the unwise and unnecessary use of credit. successful people don't go about looking for jobs. they simply take the things that they like to do and turn them into jobs and opportunities. my children were taught the discipline of discipline. they know of patience, hard work, having a vision, dedication and work ethics. they understand and know well what money is and why it is so important to others. they do not fall prey to every advertiser's attempt to separate them from their hard earned money. they are frugal and practical, yet happy and blessed. however, most importantly they know for a certainty that god is their shepherd and because he is, never shall they want or need. this premise is their cornerstone of faith. and it has worked well and continues to do so in my family's life. there is much truth in the adage that life is what you make it, but you can't make what you don't know. you can't good decisions if you don't know good knowledge. you can't make good investments if you don't know the rudiments of investing. might i say, that to begin to elevate into the realm of truly existing as we were created to exist, that one begin with prayer and supplication. be willing to forego what it is that this world has taught you and bow down to the unbiquitous and all knowing powers of the universe as humbly as a babe before his or her parents, and say to the every loving, forever forgiving faithful and indefatigueable mind of the universe, fill me with your wisdom, your vision, your purpose, your will, your instructions and your power. give you your directions and instructions. order my steps and graph my path as you have purposed. enlighten my mind and speak your wisdom into my spirit. and that and that alone will i hear, heed, and obey--forever! do this and see if your life, situation, and future does not change for the better. continue to love your child. support your husband. and never relinquish your vision for the future of your family. i blog, but not very often because i am often quite busy. i would love to remain in contact with you and your family to discuss this and any other issue that you care to bring to the table for an honest and revealing dialogue. should you like you may contact me at manifestnow1@yahoo.com. peace, happiness and blessings upon your every righteous endeavor.

  2. So full of wisdom. Thank you for taking time.
Majority of the people are not trained to build their own business. Good for you because you knew exactly what should be done especially in raising your kids. You taught them the right formula. You taught them to get a good education so that they could go out and create jobs themselves. On the other hand, most of the people were only taught to go to school, graduate, land a job and that's it! Spending or shall I say wasting their time as an employee without having a goal in mind to have their own business. Education is equally important because yes as you said you can't make good decisions if you don't know good knowledge. you can't make good investments if you don't know the rudiments of investing. Me and my husband also experienced the same thing and we just learned that Education is not enough. We have to have the mindset of a businessman just like you Sir. We know it's not too late, although we're already at our thirtees but with the right vehicle, good mindset and God's guidance nothing is impossible.
